Summary

A faunal survey of land snails in the Akasaka Imperial Gardens and the Tokiwamatsu Imperial Villa, Tokyo was carried out in 2004. A total of 24 species representing 13 families are recognized. There was no endangered species nor rare species. Poorness of the land snail fauna reflects disturbed habitat and destroyed natural environment in Tokyo urban area.
