WEEDING METHOD WITH THE STEAM HEAT TREATMENT

A.Fukuda

Weeding method needs appropriate expense and small burden on the environment. In this report, the steam heat treatment was examined whether necrosis of weed cells was caused by model experimentation. Each weed test piece on the ground underwent necrosis of their cells with the steam heat treatment, while the weed test pieces at 15 cm depth under the soil surface did not. Therefore, it is suggested that the steam heat treatment is effective to eradicate weeds which have the growing point near the soil surface.
