The Christmas & New Year’s Project
(1st & 2nd year club members – last half of 2nd term)
In this English club project, you are going to make a Christmas DVD for all English teachers. It will have a Christmas e-card with a karaoke song and a special video greeting message. Also, you are going to make traditional New Year’s e-cards for all teachers.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
STEP 01: For the Christmas e-card, take pictures of all members with a camera, but one member at a time. Take some interesting and fun pictures. Then, each member thinks of one short Christmas greeting message in English.
STEP 02: Think of a Christmas song to sing in English. All members will sing, practice, and perform. Then, it will be video recorded (with the green screen effect). The club President will give a special Christmas message. For example: Hello, I’m the club President. On behalf of the English club, we would like to wish you a…. Then, all other members will say, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” This DVD will be given to the English teachers.
STEP 03: Prepare white postcards and Calligraphy brushes. Each member thinks of one New Year’s greeting message in English and then, writes あけましておめとうございます with a Calligraphy brush. After that, each member makes a New Year’s stamp and they will be used on the postcards. When they are finished, these cards will be given to the teachers.

Then, you are going to make traditional New Year’s cards and homemade New Year’s stamps. Let’s enjoy bringing the Christmas and New Year’s celebration to your classmates’ pen pal!
STEP 01: For the Christmas e-card, take pictures of all members with a camera, but one member at a time. Take some interesting and fun pictures. Then, each member thinks of one short Christmas greeting message in English.
STEP 02: Think of two Christmas songs to sing. One song is in Japanese and one song is in English. All members will sing, practice, and perform. Then, it will be video recorded (with the green screen effect). The club Overseas
Ambassador will give a special Christmas message. For example: Hello, I’m the club Overseas Ambassador. On behalf of the English club, we would like to wish you a…. Then, all other members will say, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s from Japan!”
STEP 03: Prepare white postcards and Calligraphy brushes. Each member thinks of one New Year’s greeting message in Japanese and writes あけましておめとうございます with a Calligraphy brush. Then, each member makes a handmade New Year’s stamp and they will be used on the postcards. When they are finished, put the New Year’s postcards and the handmade stamps into the large envelope(s). These will all be sent to your classmates’ pen pal.

STEP 01: クリスマスＥカードについては、カメラを使つかって全員ぜんいんで一人ひ と りずつ写真しゃしんを撮とります。面白おもしろくて楽たのしい写真しゃしんを撮とります。 それから、英語え い ごで 短みじかいクリスマスグリーティンメッセージを一人ひ と りずつ 考かんがえて書かきます。
