DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
DuPontTM VYDATE® L Insecticide/Nematicide is recommended for use on bulb onions for control of onion thrips and western flower thrips and the suppression of stubby root, stem and bulb nematodes in the State of Nevada.
FOLIAR APPLICATION FOR THE CONTROL OF THRIPS
Apply by ground, air or overhead sprinkler chemigation at 2 to 4 pts/Acre (minimum 5 gal water/acre by air). Apply before popu- lations start to build when there are 1 to 3 thrips per plant.
Repeat applications at 7-10 day intervals. Use of a nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v (1 qt. per 100 gal spray solution) or 0.5%
(2 qts. per 100 gal. spray solution) under arid conditions will improve performance. Acidify the spray solution to a pH lower than 6.0.
DRIP APPLICATION FOR CONTROL OF THRIPS
Apply 2 to 4 pts/acre through the drip irrigation system. Apply before populations start to build when there are 1 to 3 thrips per plant. Repeat applications at 7 to 14 day intervals. Apply in enough water to thoroughly wet the root zone. Always buffer the VYDATE® L injection solution to a pH of 5 or
lower.
AT PLANTING AND POSTEMERGENCE APPLICA- TIONS FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF STUBBY ROOT, STEM AND BULB NEMATODES
AT PLANTING
Apply 1 to 2 gallons per acre by ground equipment as an in- furrow spray drench with 100-150 gallons of water per acre or using an in-furrow band spray using 20-50 gallons of water per acre.
POSTEMERGENCE
Apply 4 to 8 pints per acre by broadcast ground or air; by banded ground spray; by soil shank injection or by overhead sprinkler chemigation systems. Applications made by air or ground should be incorporated with 1/2 to 1 inch of water per acre as soon as possible after application to thoroughly incorpo- rate VYDATE® L into the crop root zone. When soil shank injection applications are used, applications should be to moist soil and must be followed as soon as possible by either sprinkler or furrow irrigation. Applications made with overhead sprinkler chemigation should use a minimum of 0.75 acre inch of water to thoroughly incorporate VYDATE® into the root zone. When solid set or wheel line systems are used, inject the appropriate amount of VYDATE® L in the middle third of the irrigation cycle.
Make applications on 14 to 21 day intervals. VYDATE® L can be applied in sequential treatments as long as the total rate per acre does not exceed 2 1/4 gallons per acre.
