THE CHARACTERISTICS OF KOTO CLUB
◆生田流の筝サークルです
◆古典箏曲から現代曲までいろいろな曲に取り組むことができます ◆十七弦も練習できます
◆希望者は三味線も先生に見ていただけますし、演奏会ではお筝と合奏することもできます ◆雰囲気がとても良いです。気になる方は見学して確認してくださいね！
⚫We are a koto club of the Ikuta style.
⚫We can practice various pieces of music from classical to modern koto music.
⚫We can practice 17 strings as well.
⚫If you want, you can take a Shamisen lesson as well and show ensemble with koto at the concerts.

お稽古
LESSON
◆基本的に活動頻度は週１～２回（木・金）の３～６限 ◆週に1回お稽古があります（金曜日にあることが多いです） ◆お稽古では、プロの先生から丁寧なご指導を受けることができるので、初心者でも安心！ ◆お稽古の日に授業が入ってしまっても調整可能なのでご安心ください⚫Basically, activities are held once or twice a week (Thursdays and Fridays), from 3 to 6 periods.
⚫We have a lesson once a week (often on Fridays).
⚫At lesson, you'll receive careful guidance from a professional teacher, so even beginners don't have to worry!

自主練
VOLUNTARY TRAINING
◆お稽古や練習会のない曜日には学生会館内での自主練も可能なので自分のペースで上達できます！ ◆お筝を借りて自宅でも練習できます
◆バイトや他サークル、授業等で忙しくても、自分のペースで両立しやすくなっています！
⚫On days when we don't have lesson or practice sessions, you can practice in the student center, so you can progress at your own pace!
⚫You can rent a koto for free and practice at home
練習場所
LOCATION

お稽古も練習会も早稲田大学学生会館内にある和室で行っています
◆
戸山キャンパス内にあるので移動に時間がかかりません

畳が敷いてあり、落ち着く空間です
⚫We practice and have rehearsals in a Japanese style room in the Waseda University Student Center.
⚫Activities will be held at the Toyama campus, so it doesn't take much time to travel.
練習で使用する道具
TOOLS
◆必要な道具は筝・琴柱・琴台・琴爪・楽譜・チューナーの6点です ◆でも自分で用意するのは琴爪・楽譜・チューナーだけ！ ◆残りはサークルのものを使えます ◆琴爪と楽譜は高田馬場駅からすぐのお店で買っています。最初は一緒に行くので迷う心配もなし ◆気軽にお筝を始められますね！⚫You will need six tools: koto, koto post, koto stand, koto pick, sheet music and tuner.
⚫But all you have to prepare by yourself is a harp nails, scores, and tuner!
⚫About other tools, you can use ones which our club owns.
⚫We buy our koto pick and sheet music from a shop just outside Takadanobaba station. We go together at first so you don’t have to worry about getting lost.

新入生はまず小曲集を練習した後、六段の調を練習します

その後は進度に合わせて様々な曲に取り組みます
⚫New students will first practice the Small Works and then practice “Rokudan no shirabe”.
⚫Then we'll work on a variety of songs as we progress. 曲目例 (Example of tunes)

⚫We are a member of the Waseda University Federation of Classical Arts (KOGEI) and the Kanto Student Sankyoku Federation (GAKUSAN).
⚫As a member of the Kogei, you can interact with other Waseda University clubs.
⚫At Gakusan, you can interact with clubs from other universities.

In April, a newcomer’s concert is held by the three colleges.

KOTO CLUB SUMMER CAMP

9月には3泊4日で合宿に行きます

お筝の練習はもちろんですが、花火をしたり川に行ったり遊びも充実
しています

他にも様々なイベントがあります。

We are going to a training camp for 4 days and 3 nights in
September.
⚫
We practice koto, of course, but we also have a lot of
activities such as fireworks and going to the river.

学外で同じようにお稽古を受けると６倍以上の費用がかかることも。 プロの指導もあってこの会費は破格です。
If you take the same training off campus, it can cost six times as much or more. With professional instruction, this fee is unbeatable.

楽譜 sheet music⚫ Experienced and beginners are welcome! (Most of the current members are also beginners. Some of them had never touched the koto or had no musical experience before joining.)
⚫ We don't use 5-line notation, so even if you can't read 5-line notation, please come and join us!

⚫ We are actively accepting international students and students from other universities!
