高橋隆雄先生追悼号の刊行によせて

2020年6月16日に熊本大学名誉教授・高橘隆雄先生がご逝去されました。 2014年3月 末に熊本大学をご退職になられてからほんの六年ほどで、高橘先生の追悼号を刊行しなけ ればならないことには、揃恨の思いで一杯です。高橋先生は、熊本大学をご退職後の 2014年4月から2018年3月まで、熊本大学博士課程教育リーディングプログラム(HI GOプログラム）の客員教授として、社会文化科学系科目の統括リーダーを務められ、同 プログラムの教育に対して多大の貢献をなされました。その任を終えられた後で、ますま す自由に研究に取り組まれていた般中のことでした。
高橘先生のお仕率は、 (1)ヴイトゲンシニダイン研究、 (2)日本思想研究、 (3)生命倫理 学研究、 （ 1)環境倫理学研究、 (5)鯛査倫理学研究、 (6)ケアの倫理研究、 (7)工学倫理研究 など多岐にわたりますが、熊本大学をご退職後は特に、災害倫理の研究に注力しておられ ました。それは、科学研究費補助金による「応用倫理諸領域の議論の検討に基づく災害時 の倫理学の構築」 （平成26年度〜平成29年度）の研究代表者を務められ、令和2年ま での6年間に10本以上の論文や監訳書を公表されていることからも見て取れます。なか でも、 「共災の思想とアニミズムの展望j ('『文化と哲学』 2015)、 「災害時の倫理＄ トリア ージの倫理から災害時の倫理へ」 （『先端倫理研究』2015)、『災害の倫理；災害時の自助・
共助．公助を考える』（ナオミ・ザック著、高橘隆雄監訳、勁草書房、 2020)は、災害の 倫理に関する研究の展開として、その先駆性は高い評価に値します。このように商柵先生 は、熊本大学在職中も、退職後も一貫して、哲学・倫理学の研究を理論と実践を架橘する 形で続け、生命倫理学、鍬境倫理学、災害倫理などの領域で最前線の研究成果を生み出し 続けて来られました。
2019年の11月には「大乗仏教における仏性思想について」というテーマで研究会を主 宰され、お声掛けいただいたので、わたしも参加させていただきました。この時すでにご 病状があまり思わしくないとうことでしたが、高橋先生は、ご自身の状況を極めて冷怖に 受け止めておられ、そのことそれ自体を哲学的に考察しようとしておられました。この時 のご発表の内容は、 「日附化の傾向性と仏性一ガン闘病体験に基づく考察」として、 2020 年3月に発刊した『先端倫理学研究』第14号(*)に掲載されています。この原稿を掲載す るためにメールでやりとりした後で、前掲の監訳書『災害の倫理：災害時の自助・共助・
公助を考える』が4月に発刊されました。その後高橋先生は、体調を崩されてご入院され たのですが、 コロナのこともありお目にかかることができないままに、ご逝去されまし た。公刊されたばかりの胎文と監訳書を手にすると、高橘先生の息遣いがすぐそこで感じ

られるようでした。こうした経緯を鑑みるに、高橘先生は人生の最後まで、すさまじい胆 力をもって哲学されたと思いますcこれまでのご指導に心からの感鮒をお送りするととも
に、 ご冥福をお祈りしたいと思います．
