(2) An excretion care support system using Scanning Range Sensor Shingo Mouri School of Knowledge Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology March 2010 Keywords: Scanning Range Sensor, excretion care In the present study, the supporting system has been developed with the defence of dignity in the excretion care as the person. The excretion act is none of acts that want to be seen by me, and the care-giving that should be done as privacy worries especially for the care givers. In care-giving with the problem of such privacy, whether goodness if it supported it very was investigated through the interview to the care-givers. Through the interview, it has been understood that the care-givers wants to learn internal information whether neatly sit on the toilet seat who entered when the Elderly People with Dementia enters the rest room alone. However, because the private room and the rest room protect one’s privacy, the image collection with the camera is undesirable. Moreover, when information is too clear, it is caught with the feeling of the sense of resistance and the watch. Then, the supporting system that did not offer concrete information with Scanning Range Sensor was made for trial purposes, the display image of the action that used this system was seen, and whether the action and the location information in the rest room decided to some degree were able to be judged was evaluated in the present study. As a result, the result that the action of"(Entered the rest room)The door was opened", "It sat on the toilet seat, and stood", and "(Went out from among the rest room)The door was opened, and closed", was actions that were able to be understood even when this system was used was obtained.
