2)癌の診断に関する研究
ポジトロンCTによる癌診断研究は,サイクロトロンセンターでPET施設をたち上げたときからの
当分野の研究テーマであり,世界的にも先駆的な仕事がなされている.これらの成果の集大成として,
1985年仙台においてポジトロンCTによる癌診断の国際シンポジウム(PET‑85)が松沢前教授の主催で開催されている.また1994年には第2回のポジトロンCTによる癌診断の国際シンポジウムが福田の
主催で行われた.現在もこの分野では世界をリードしており,学会賞受賞,国際会議への招請,国際誌への多数の論文掲載など対外的にも評価されている.主な研究テーマは,
a) 1〝Cメチオニン, 18F‑FDGによる肺癌の悪性度判定,および治療効果の判定, b)ポジトロン核種によるミクロオートラジオグラム法の開発とその応用, C) 18F‑フルオロデオキシガラクト‑スによる肝癌の分化度診断法の開発,
d)癌集積性ポジトロン標識化合物の開発などである.
3)癌の治療に関する研究
当分野では,腫瘍および正常組織の細胞増殖動態に基づく新しい放射線治療法の開発を目指して基礎
的,臨床的研究を続けている.1)放射線照射中の正常組織(皮膚,小腸など)および腫瘍組織の細胞増殖加速について 2)照射中の腫瘍細胞の増殖加速を考慮した非小細胞肺癌の放射線治療の臨床試行.
3)原子炉熱中性子を用いる悪性黒色腫の中性子捕捉治療の放射線医学的基礎的,臨床的研究(国際 的にもこの治療法に関する感心が高まっているが,基礎的にも臨床的にも世界をリードしてい
る.
