Kosen-Applied science Research Center
A pilot project for nationwide KOSENs was launched in July 2015 as the trial of research promotion model at the KOSEN.
K-ARC has been established as the research establishment of the KOSEN at the Tsuruoka Metabolome campus. In addition, it acts the platform for helping faculty members conduct high quality research, achieve self reliance in research expenses through attracting research grants and continue promotion of education & research with the industry.
Objectives as the center of the KOSEN’s research
Self reliance
Invite faculty members with high research abilities, generate high quality research outcome & achieve complete self reliance by attracting external research grants
Collaboration with national research institutions
Collaborate with top level national research institutions and conduct complementary research toward implementation
Building independent research establishment
Research oriented faculty members are to be invited from different campuses to build independent research

Agricultural data collection device, agri-server, WXT-5200 weather transmitter, satellite broadband system IPSTAR, field monitoring system, disaster system powered by independent distributed power supply, SNS senior monitoring system, renewable energy generation systems like small hydro power generator, wide range of collaborations on embedded systems
Functional polymer materials
Biomaterial, Biomimetic material, development of ionic material, TEM, FE-SEM, Laser confocal microscope, 400MHz- NMR(CP-MAS, diffusion measurement probe) , analysis through various analytical equipments, experiments on Lithium ion battery, capacitance etc. in a 25m2room, Various devices for prototype research like fuel cell evaluation equipment, Evaluation by various tribology devices etc.
Biology related to Metabolome
Joint research on metabolome analysis with the world ‘s leading Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Keio University, DNA recombination laboratory, microbiological culture, establishment of a plant growing apparatus, development of technology for utilization of microorganism.
