All Satawalese vowels (Table 1) contrast long and short sounds. The vowel length contrast is not indicated for the vowels ea, eo, iu, oa in the orthography system used in this dictionary, but appears in the alternative spelling (Table 2).

Alternative spellings are provided under AltSp at the end of each entry, when it is different from the spelling used for the entry form. The order of letters in the dictionary, follows that used in the English alphabet.

All the consonants (Table 3), except for y and w, occur doubled as geminates.

The consonants mw and pw are velarized sounds. The geminate consonants of the sounds ch, mw, ng, pw and rh are indicated as cch, mmw, nng, ppw and rrh. For other consonants, the letter is simply doubled, e.g., ff for a geminate f. The character ŕ, instead of rh, is used in some publications (Table 4).

Meaning-distinguishing stress or pitch accent on a word is not observed. Uttered in isolation in normal speed, a word usually carries the heaviest stress on its last syllable and the highest pitch on its next-to-the-last syllable.

In 1992 Greither [10] refined the method of Rubin and used the Euler system of cyclotomic units to give an elementary (but technical) proof of the second version of the Main

It provides an alternative and more geometric proof of Serrin’s seminal symmetry result for positive solutions to overdetermined boundary value problems.. As a byproduct I give

Our guiding philosophy will now be to prove refined Kato inequalities for sections lying in the kernels of natural first-order elliptic operators on E, with the constants given in

We believe it will prove to be useful both for the user of critical point theorems and for further development of the theory, namely for quick proofs (and in some cases improvement)

We present sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to Neu- mann and periodic boundary-value problems for some class of quasilinear ordinary differential equations.. We

Using the multi-scale convergence method, we derive a homogenization result whose limit problem is defined on a fixed domain and is of the same type as the problem with

In this last section we construct non-trivial families of both -normal and non- -normal configurations. Recall that any configuration A is always -normal with respect to all

Then it follows immediately from a suitable version of “Hensel’s Lemma” [cf., e.g., the argument of [4], Lemma 2.1] that S may be obtained, as the notation suggests, as the m A
