The Verification of the Duration of the Effects of Illuminance and Color Temperature on People’s Sense of Coolness and Warmth

We have been examining how the color temperature of the ceiling light affects people’s sense of coolness and warmth.

As a result of the verification, it was found that the color and illuminance of the ceiling light influenced the sense of coolness and warmth of people. This is assumed that the in-view environment changes due to the difference in the color and illuminance of the ceiling light, so the lighting environment in the field of view influences the sense of coolness and warmth of people. However, previous studies have not examined the effects of illuminance and color temperature on the coolness-warmth sensation after 20 minutes. Therefore, in this study, we examined the effects of both illuminance and color temperature on the coolness and warmth of the subjects after 20 minutes from the that they entered the room. The results showed that the coolness-warmth sensation was sustained both in summer and winter when there was a 2˃ C difference in room temperature.
