ABSTRACT

Les Pensées of Blaise Pascal is composed of two parts and 28 themes, that is, the chapters. The themes of the first part are Order (Order), Vanité (Vanity), Misère (Misery), Ennui et qualité, essentielle à l’homme (Ennui and essential quality for man), Raison des effets (Reason of effects), Grandeur (Greatness), Contrariétés (Con- trarities), Divertissement, Philosophes (Philosophers), Le souverain bien (the Sub- lime good) et A P.R.,〈Ordre〉gives us suggestions to understand the ways to write the Apology of Pascal. In〈Vanité, Misère, Ennui et qualité, essentielle à l’homme〉, the author shows us the description of the conditions of human beings. He describes weakness, inconstance, vanity, and the arrogance of man, from the view point of anthropolo-gy. The chapter,〈Raison des effets〉shows the dialectic of his Apology, and in the next chapters: Grandeur, Contrariété, Divertissement, Philosophes Le souverain bien A P.R. we feel the suggestions of using of the theological method.
