Application of 80kg/mm2 Class High Tensile Strength Steel to Railway Bridge

要旨 : 川崎製鉄千葉製鉄所内に西工場を建設するにあたり,従来の東工場を結ぶ連絡橋として当 社のRIVER ACE K-0(80kg/mm2 級高張力鋼)を用いて鉄道橋を架設した。近年の橋梁が 軽量化長大化する傾向にあり,また省力化,安全性が強く望まれるが,本橋は 80kg/mm2 級高張力鋼を橋梁に用いる場合の問題点を検討するための試験橋として,設計,製作し, 架設した。特に設計に対しては許容応力および疲労の問題,製作に対しては溶接の問題に 重点をおいて詳細に検討した。その結果疲労に関する貴重な資料を得るとともに,あらた に圧縮応力による疲労亀裂と残留応力の関係が明らかとなった。またMIG 溶接,ユニオン メルト溶接は製作上十分実用性があることが認められた。 Synopsis :

In constructing a new steelworks opposite to the existing Chiba Works, a railway bridge has been built with 80kg/mm2 RVER ACE K-0(quenched and tempered high strength steel). Throughout designing, fabricating and erection of this bridge, special attention was taken to realize the best possible manpower saving and safety so as to study various problems on the application of 80kg/mm2 steel to bridges in the light of the latest trend toward lighter and longer-span model. With particular emphasis placed on allowable stress and fatigue in the designing phase and on welding in the fabricating, the experimental construction of this bridge has provided valuable data on fatigue while relations have been brought to light between fatigue rupture caused by compressive stress and residual stress. Also, a practical use of MIG welding and Union Melt welding in manufacture has been well recognized.
