Many people think that keeping a diary is something that only teenage girls do: ()It is a place to write down ( they / kindof / what / like / boys ). It’s a safe place to write down secrets; things they don't want

anyone to know. Other people believe that men don’t like to write in diaries.

Actually, keeping a diary is an old tradition. Many famous and powerful people have kept diaries. Some of these people include actors, writers, kings, queens, and presidents. Their diaries are full ( ) memories and

history.

Doctors say that keeping a diary has many good benefits for your health.

Writing down your thoughts will improve your mental, emotional and physical health. Studies show that people with asthma and arthritis feel better if they write down their thoughts every day. Writing uses your left brain, which is analytical and rational. While your left brain is busy, your right brain is creating and feeling.

The best way to write a diary is to write everything you’re thinking. Do not stop any thoughts from coming through. You must write down thoughts that are negative and positive. This helps to make your feelings clear,

especially when you have to ( ) difficult decisions. Sometimes when you write down the pros and cons, you can understand a problem well. You will start to see ()it in different ways. This is useful if you and others have different ideas and opinions.

A diary doesn't need to have pink flowers on it. It can also be useful for men, women, and boys. Writing your thoughts removes mental blocks so you can understand yourself better. You can use a diary to tell a story, remember the past, and prepare for the future. When you write in your diary, there is always an adventure waiting for you on the next page.

次の英文を読んで,あとの問いに答えなさい。

Callum Daniel is a normal ten-year-old boy living in London. He likes track and field, ice-hockey and video games. He loves robots most of all. He built his first robot when he was four years old. He first became interested in robots after seeing a big robot at a science exhibition. He wanted to know how it worked. He also wanted to build a robot by himself.

That Christmas, his mother bought him a robot kit. It took him four weeks to build the robot. Then, he showed it at his school. He was surprised that everyone loved his robot. Some of the children wanted to build robots, too. However, their parents couldn’t buy robot kits for them because they were expensive.

After showing his first robot at school, Callum wanted to keep learning about robots. He went to many robotics classes and exhibitions. For the next four years, he watched videos on YouTube and built robots by himself at home. He remembered that many other children were interested in building robots. He really wanted to help them. So, when he was eight years old, he visited a technical university in London and asked them to start robotics classes just for children. He told them he would teach the classes.

The university agreed to give him a classroom. After that, he started

a company called iCodeRobots to support his project. As a result, he became one of the youngest business owners in the UK.

Callum loves Lego® robot kits and uses them in his classes. The classes are not expensive. Each one costs £10, and is two or three hours long.

The classes are on Saturdays, and are only for children aged six to twelve years. The classes are successful because they are challenging, fun, and easy to understand.

Callum is not only a business owner; he is also a Lego® video presenter.

He makes videos to teach children all over the world how to build Lego®

robots. Thanks to him, many children can enjoy building robots by

themselves at home. He is busy every day, but he loves robots and he enjoys teaching children how to build them. For him, this is the best job in the world.

In the future, Callum wants to help many more children with his knowledge of robotics. He also wants to improve himself in sports,

engineering and business. Though he is a normal ten-year-old boy, he will keep inspiring children and adults everywhere he goes.
