The School News Project
(ALL club members – first half of 1st term)
In this English club project, you are going to be TV news reporters!
You will interview everyone at your school.
And, introduce about Japanese school life.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
STEP 01: Every club member will go around the school to interview new teachers, classmates, and members
from other clubs. The oldest member will ask the most difficult questions and the youngest member will ask
the very easy questions. When interviewing, use the digital camera to do the video recording.
STEP 02: Choose four news casters, one weather reporter, and one sport caster. They must be 2
ndyear club
members and read out their local school news script. The first year members help prepare the green screen,
props, and hold the cue cards. The club teacher (or your 3
rdclub members) will do the video recording with a
camcorder.
STEP 03: The third year club members will research about the World news (or a modern pop culture of
another country). Then, they make their script and their own cue cards. When finished, choose the CNN news
casters or MTV music hosts. One 3
rdyear member will do the video recording with a camcorder. Other younger
members help with the green screen, props, and holding the cue cards. The older members are the directors.
