ANALYSIS OF THE DEFORMATION OF SURROUNDING GROUND DUE TO REBOUND OF THE

GROUND DEEPER THAN EXCAVATION BOTTOM

Construction works with deep excavation adjacent to railroad are not uncomment in metropolis. In this paper, a three-dimensional analytical model is built in order to evaluate the deformation behavior of the surrounding ground around the excavation subjected to the rebound of the ground deeper than excavation bottom. The elastic model is composed of the hard and the soft ground layers, in which two parameters, both the ground layer depth and the Poisson’s ratio of soft ground, are taken into account. The analytic results indicate that the vertical displacement as well as the horizontal displacement in the underground become large under the condition of excavation bottom far away from the upper surface level of the hard layer. Besides, the horizontal displacement in the underground increases with the increase of the Poisson’s ratio of the soft ground.
