ウォームアップ (整序英作文) 本来, 整序英作文と英作文(和文英訳)は似て(?)非なるものである｡ 普通は, いくら 整序英作文に精通してもそれがそのまま英作文の上達につながる訳ではない｡ しかし 整序英作文は構文・相関語句・イディオム等のまさに宝庫である｡ したがって, 自覚 的に取り組めば英作文に必要な多くの英語知識を身につけることができる｡ だからと いって即, 英作文の力がつくことにならないのは, 整序英作文にはパズル的要素があ るからだ｡ ここでウォームアップとして整序英作文を扱う狙いは別にある｡ まず第一 に本来あるべき英語の語順に加え, 日本語では省かれることの多い主語，所有格, 明 示されることのない冠詞等をきちんと補う必要を自覚するためである｡ つまりウォー ムアップのためのウォームアップである｡ (なお整序英作文としての別解は提示して いない｡) ただし, 和文和訳と基本的な文法やイディオムの知識は必要不可欠であり, それを知 らないと正解に達することができない｡ つまり整序英作文のほうが和文英訳や自由英 作文よりも手強いこともあるのだ｡ つまり使用する語句が指定されている分, 解答の 自由度は制限され,しかも与えられている日本語はときに極端な「意訳」であり, 日 本語の解釈 (和文和訳) に相当な国語力を要することもある｡ 一方, 日本文はせいぜ い参考程度にして, 与えられた英語の語(句)を英文のあるべき語順に並べ替えていく 場合には, 細部に及ぶ相当な英語の知識が必要になってくる｡ したがって, この両方 が課される大学・学部の受験者は，両者を有機的に結びつけて学ぶことが望ましい｡ その狙いもあって, 和文英訳や自由英作文の場合に使える解答例も適宜, 例示した｡ 以下の 1-26 の日本文とほぼ同じ意味の英文になるように，与えられた語を並び替え なさい｡ なお文頭の大文字と句読点に注意すること｡ ウォームアップ (整序英作文) 1-4 1. われわれは愛する人の死を直視できる強さを持たなければならない。 must face be we the strong loved ones enough of to death 2. 自由とは恐れることなく意見を述べ，また行動できることである。
