Preface
.
This brochure contains records of all the lectures
delivered at a small seminar which was held on December 17
and 18, 1974, at RIMS (Research Institute for Mathematical sciences) of Kyoto University with the title ”Analysis of
Nonlinear Problems”. This seminar was organized in conjunction with a visit to Japan of Professor Haim Brezis of University of Pans as a scientific mission of French government, and one of the objectives of the meeting was to provide many
Japanese mathematicians with chances to see him, to learn from
him and to discuss with him in an informal atmosphere. Hence talks were given in English and this brochure of the proceedings was prepared mostly in English.
We express our thanks to Professor Brezis who kindly participated in the seminar and warmly responded to eager requests of Japanese participants.
