This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates and may cause reproductive effects in wildlife. Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

• This Special Local Need (SLN) label and the federal label for this product must be in the possession of the user at the time of pesticide application.

• Follow all applicable directions, precautions, restrictions, and Worker Protection Standard requirements on the main product label for COMITE®, EPA Reg. No. 400-104, and on this SLN label.

• Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State Tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

CLOVER GROWN FOR SEED ONLY For the control of the two-spotted spider mite.

For ground applications use 32 to 48 fl.oz/A of COMITE® in 25 to 40 gallons of water per acre. For air applications use 32 to 48 fl.oz/A of COMITE® in a minimum of 10 gallons of water per acre.

NOTE: Observe a Restricted Entry Interval (REI) of 9 days.

Do not make more than two applications per season. Allow at least 14 days between applications.

CARROTS GROWN FOR SEED ONLY For the control of the two-spotted spider mite.

For air applications use 32 to 48 fl.oz/A of COMITE® in a minimum of 10 gallons of water per acre. Start applications as soon as mites appear.

NOTE: Observe a Restricted Entry Interval (REI) of 2 days.

Do not make more than two applications per season. Allow at least 14 days between applications.

Hand harvesting is prohibited until 13 days after application.

RESTRICTIONS/PRECAUTIONS

For use under this SLN, do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

WHEN SPRAYING IN THE VICINITY OF AQUATIC AREAS:

• Do not apply by ground within 50 feet or by air within 75 feet of lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes, natural ponds, estuaries, or commercial fish farm ponds.

• The above excludes irrigation canals and wasteways as well as man-made irrigation conveyance structures and impoundments, unless an exclusion contains water year-round.

• Risk of exposure to sensitive aquatic areas can be reduced by making applications when the wind direction is away from the aquatic area.

RUNOFF PRECAUTIONS:

• Under some conditions, propargite may have a high potential for runoff into surface water for several days after application.

• Do not apply in the following areas:

o Frequently flooded areas (excluding crop irrigation areas).

o Areas where intense or sustained rainfall is forecasted to occur within 48 hours.

• Care should be taken when making applications where the following conditions exist:

o Poorly draining or wet soils with readily visible slopes toward adjacent surface water.

o Areas with in-field canals or ditches that drain to surface water.

o Areas not separated from adjacent surface waters with vegetated filter.

• Consult your soil conservation service for recommendations in your use area.

ENDANGERED/THREATENED SPECIES:

• You may contact the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, National Marine Fisheries Service or US Fish & Wildlife Service for information on listed threatened or endangered species.

SPECIAL CROP USE RESTRICTIONS

The pesticide applicator, the producer of the crop, and the seed conditioner must be aware that use of this product according to this labeling is deemed a non-feed/non-food use by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and is regulated by Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 603-057-0535, Pesticide Use on Crops Grown for Seed. If the applicator of this pesticide is not the producer, the applicator must provide a copy of this labeling to the producer of the crop. Producers of this crop who use this product or cause the product to be used on a field they operate, must provide a copy of this pesticide label to the seed conditioner.

This pesticide does not have an established pesticide residue tolerance for this crop. Consequently, no portion of this seed crop may be used or distributed for food or feed for 1 year (365 days) after the last application of this product. This restriction pertains to, but is not limited to: green chop, forage, hay, pellets, meal, whole seed, cracked seed, straw, roots, bulbs, foliage or seed screenings, and to the grazing of the crop field, stubble or regrowth. All seed screenings shall be disposed of in such a manner that the screenings cannot be distributed or used for food or feed purposes, as indicated in OAR 603-057-0535. Additional regulations concerning seed screenings are stated in OAR 603-057-0535.

Any seed from a field treated with this pesticide product shall bear specific and conspicuous container labeling, or if shipped in bulk, on the shipment invoice or bill of lading. The labeling shall contain the following statement:

“This seed was produced using one or more products for which the United States Environmental Protection Agency has not established pesticide residue tolerances. This seed, in whole, as sprouts, or in any form, may not be used for human consumption or animal feed. Failure to comply with this condition may violate requirements of the Federal Food and Drug Administration, the Oregon Department of Agriculture and other regulatory agencies.”
