Driving factors of collaborative process:

An elaboration of the Collaborative Governance Model developed by Ansell and Gash

Yamato OGAWA

Since the 1990s, national and local governments have addressed several issues pertaining to the public sphere in collaboration with diverse actors from both the private and the civil (residence associ- ations, nonprofit organizations, etc.) sectors. This paper aims to conduct a systematic review of 88 recent works of literatures published in the United States that focus on the collaboration between governments and civil sectors. It attempts to elaborate on the Collaborative Governance Model developed by American researchers, Chis Ansell and Alison Gash. The model was established by extracting the driving factors of the collaborative process and combining them with the meta-analysis of relevant literature published till 2008. This paper revises the model by extracting the driving factors of collaborative process from pertinent studies published from 2009 to 2017(scholarly research published after the establishment of the Collaborative Governance Model). Finally, through the elaborating effort, the implications of the model for academic researchers and practitioners are indicated in the paper.
