平城京3D復元図
平城京のイメージ復元については、奈良市庁 舎のロビーに展示されている1000分の１縮尺 の模型がよくしられている。これは1974年に 市庁舎完成を記念して作成されたものである が、以来すでに40年近くが経過している。こ のたび最近の調査研究の知見に基づいて、３Ｄ 方式での平城京復元を試みた。奈良時代の終わ り頃の都の状況を表現したものであるが、いう までもなく細部について不分明な点が少ない中 での復元であるので、今後新たな事実が判明し た場合、随意に修正することができる。
The 3-D image of the Nara capital The 1:1000 scale model on display in the lobby at the Nara City Hall is well known as a reconstructed image of the Nara capital. This was made to commemorate the completion of the city office building in 1974, however, and now nearly 40 years have elapsed. Based on knowl- edge from recent investigations and research, we have attempted a reconstruction in three-dimensional form of the Nara capital. This is a representation of the capi- tal’s condition near the end of the Nara period, but as the reconstruction is being made while many details are still vague, it may be corrected from time to time as new facts come to light in the future.
