It’s summer! Time for cool biz, ice cream, and travelling. There will be many new travelers coming to Shiroishi soon. A group of American high school students will come in June. They will only stay for one day. They will see Shiroishi castle, Obara onsen, and temples, and they will try macha, umen, and sushi.
Then there will be a group of Australian high school students too. They will stay longer. They will go to junior high schools in Shiroishi and join classes for a few days. Maybe you can talk to them!

Do you like to watch unusual stories of ordinary people like you and I? When people ask me some tips to improve their English, I often advise them to watch a foreign TV drama. That may sound difficult and not serious.
But since the plot is usually easy to understand, even with many new words and expressions, it’s a good training for one’s ears, and later for actual communication. Many kinds of subjects are treated: family, mystery, S-F, business, law… Lasting for twenty to forty minutes, they are easy to fit in someone’s busy days.

海外ドラマを観れば英語がうまくなるんじゃないかなぁと思います。ヒアリングにもいいと思うし、それに 実際にどうやって言葉を伝えてるか知ることができるでしょ。ジャンルも家族、サスペンス、SF、ビジネス、 法律など私たちの身近な話題が多いから理解しやすいと思います。

月１９日に、第１回「しろいし国際カフェ」をふれあいプラザで開催しました◆
On 3rd May, I had an enjoyable day at Shiroishi. I went to the Spring Festival. I saw many students performing in the parade! They are talented and looked very cool. I am so proud of them!
I also went to the White Cube to see the National Kokeshi Contest. Did you see my Aussie style Kokeshi there? Thank you Daini Elementary School for letting me do it with them! It was fun!
Then I went to Zaimokuiwa Park to see the 800 "flying" carps (koinobori). It was an amazing view!
Shiroishi has so much to offer! And I certainly have so much love for Shiroishi Sarah セーラ
