1005: Simplified customs clearance system for documents

Generally, importation of goods requires the submission of an import declaration form for each importer.

However, as for those documents, such as newspapers, magazines, brochures, etc., which are imported for multiple importers but transported collectively under one transportation contract, a blanket declaration may be made, provided that the total customs value for each importer does not exceed 10,000 yen.

In this case, a special declaration form should be used, to which a manifest or invoice, etc. showing names of importers as well as name, volume and value, etc. of the respective articles should be attached. For import declaration, the manifest should specify names of importers and customs value for each article.
