Many children enjoy watching many kinds of TV programs at home every day. TV gives them a lot of information. They can learn what is happening in Japan and all over the world through TV. They also have a lot of fun when they watch interesting programs. At school they enjoy talking about favorite singers, movies and sports they see on TV. But watching too much TV is a big problem for children. They sometimes watch TV for too long and don’t have much time to study or talk with their family. They should use it in a good way.

2 次の英文の に入る最も適切なものを,下のア~エから一つ選び,その記号を書け。 In Japan, we often say, “Tsumaranai mono desu ga …” when we give something to other

people. But when we give a gift to a foreigner, we cannot say, “This is a worthless thing, but ….” If we say so in English, the foreigner may think, “Why does this person give me something worthless? Maybe this person does not like me.”

“Tsumaranai mono desu ga …”’ is one of the humble expressions in the Japanese language. We cannot put a Japanese expression like this into English easily. Then, when we give something to foreigners, “This is something for you. I hope you like it.” That is one of the examples of an English expression.
