Contract Instructor of English
at Tokyo Womanʼs Christian University
1. The Department of English at Tokyo Womanʼs Christian University is seeking a full-time English-speaking Contract Instructor to begin on 1 April, 2019. This is a different Contract Instructor position from the one previously advertised with a September 18 deadline.
2. According to the school regulations, the contract of Contract Instructor is valid for one year and can be renewed by mutual agreement three times, i.e. for a maximum of four years. The maximum contract period is specified when the agreement is concluded. The mutual agreement must be signed 6 months before the contract term expires.
3. Qualifications: (1) Native English speaker competence; (2) An MA in TESOL or related field; (3) At least 2 years of experience in teaching English at university, preferably at a Japanese university; and (4) Eagerness for teaching English.
4. Duties: Teach ten classes, including academic writing classes of the Department of English, classes of the Department of Language Sciences, and English skills classes for General Education, and assist with department duties as necessary, including entrance examination marking and extra lectures for PR. 5. Salary and Benefits: Approximately \297,500 per month + 4-month bonus per year, transportation expenses and a small housing allowance (depending on eligibility).

8. Screening: First screening will be done by documentary examination. Second screening is an interview. Applicants who pass the first screening will be notified about the interview. Interviewees may be asked to present a short demonstration lesson or give a detailed explanation of a syllabus they have made.
If finalists are regarded as equally qualified after the screening process, preference will be given to female applicants.
The interviewees will pay the travelling and accommodation expenses for the interview.
At the final stage of screening, you will be asked to submit your opinions about the educational policies of our university.
