HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION Threshold Limit Value: 5 mg/m3 Permissible Exposure Limit: 5 mg/m3 Warning Statements: CAUTION Chem-Oil 83 increases the activity of pesticides. In spraying of new varieties or highly inbred lines, a test area is recommended. Use care during periods when pesticides are more active such as very hot and humid conditions. Keep container tightly closed and DO NOT allow water to be introduced to contents of the container. Keep out of reach of children.

Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Excessive exposures may cause irritation to eyes, nose, throat and lungs.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Skin disorders, respiratory, pulmonary and lung disorders.

Primary Route of Exposure: Inhalation, absorption.

Acute Toxicity Data:

1. Oral Toxicity: LD50 30+ g/kg Pulmonary aspiration hazard if swallowed and/or vomiting occurs-can enter lungs and cause damage.

2. Dermal Toxicity: Practically non- toxic if absorbed. (LD50>2000 mg/kg) Mild irritation with prolonged or repeated contact.

3. Inhalation Toxicity: Low acute toxicity. Overexposure to mist may cause eye, nose, throat, respiratory tract irritation.

4. Eye Irritation: Practically non- irritating on contact.

5. Skin Irritation/Sensitization:

Moderate/mild irritation with prolonged or repeated contact.

Chronic Toxicity Data: Not listed as a carcinogen.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures:

1. If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Do not give liquids. Obtain medical attention. Small amounts which accidentally enter mouth should be rinsed out until taste of it is gone.

2. If Inhaled: Move person to fresh air.

If breathing has stopped, artificial respiration should be started. Oxygen may be administered, if readily available. Seek medical attention if symptoms develop.

3. If in Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids apart to ensure flushing of the entire eye surface. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

4. If on Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water until no odor remains. If redness or swelling develops, obtain medical assistance. Wash clothing before use.

NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: This product presents a pulmonary aspiration hazard if swallowed and/or vomiting occurs-can enter lungs and cause damage.

SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

Respiratory Protection: Concentration in air determines protection needed.

Usually not needed unless product is heated or misted. Use half-mask air purifying respirator with dust/mist filters or HEPA filter cartridges to 50X the exposure limit. Protection by air purifying respirators are limited. Use positive pressure-demand full-face supplied air respirator or SCBA for exposures> 50X the exposure limit. If exposure is above IDLH, there is the possibility of an uncontrolled release or exposure levels are unknown then use a positive pressure- demand full-face supplied air respirator with escape bottle or SCBA. Use only NIOSH certified respiratory protection.

Eye Protection: Splash proof chemical goggles recommended.

Skin Protection: Protective gloves recommended when prolonged skin contact cannot be avoided. The following glove materials are acceptable: polyvinyl chloride (PVC), neoprene, nitrile, polyvinyl alcohol, viton.

Ventilation: Ventilate as needed to comply with exposure limit. Work upwind in outside batch operations.

Indoor work areas should be contained and provided with local or mechanical exhausts.

Other: If contact is unavoidable, wear chemical resistant clothing. The following materials are acceptable as protective clothing materials: polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), neoprene, nitril, viton, polyurethane;

launder soiled clothes.
