A B 答 い (2点×510) Dear Anika,

Thank you for your interesting e-mail and pictures. ( 1 ) I enjoyed the pictures of Delhi and Mumbai. I am especially interested in the signs at the train station and in the shops. There are many languages on them!

We usually use only Japanese in Japan. How many languages are there in India? Please tell me about Indian languages in your next e-mail.

Sincerely yours, Yuta

Dear Yuta,

Thank you for your e-mail. You asked me about Indian languages. I’ll explain about them.

We have a lot of languages in India. English and Hindi are the two main languages. ( 2 ) About 400 million people speak this language in India. But 400 million is not a large number in India. About 1.2 billion people live in our country! In India, each state has its own language. Also, there are many races in India. They use different languages. There are more than 100 languages in India! So we use many languages at the same time. For example, there are 15 languages on Indian bank notes. I can speak two languages. I speak Hindi at home. I read the local newspaper and watch TV in Hindi. I study English at school. I sometimes talk with my friends at school in English. ( 3 ) I am going to work in America in the future, so I must study English harder. Hindi and English are both very important to me.

Let’s talk about Japanese language next time. Take care,
